VIEWS FROM ABOVE

Before leaving North Haven, Caravan Park, owner, Neville Smith, insisted on driving us to the top of North Brother Mountain to take in this beautiful site of the area. What a view it was!

A little history also… In August 1944, Bob Hope (the famous American performer known throughout the world for entertaining US troops) was being transported in a Catalina flying boat when the plane developed engine trouble. It was forced to land on the closest river. This river was the Camden Haven River at Laurieton (to the right of Neville’s elbow). This incident is one of the area’s long-standing claims to fame.
