The remaining 30km for the day (Jan. 14) were spent in the Royal National Park, one of the world’s first two national parks (the other is Yellowstone in Wyoming, USA). About 95% of this park was burnt during the awful 1994 bushfire season. It’s hard to believe that Sydney is only 30km away. We savored these last kilometres on quieter roads as we approached Bundeena where we boarded the ferry to Cronulla a Sydney suburb.
