PADDLE AND...... REST

The thrill of riding a wave, without actually getting on a surfboard, was accomplished in an outrigger canoe at Waikiki. We were also looking for another way to travel north from San Francisco, California to Silverdale, Washington!!! The outrigger canoe is a Polynesian-style canoe of unique design. It is a single-hull canoe with an outrigger float called an ‘ama’ in Hawaiian. The Polynesian outrigger canoe has been in existence for over 1000 years and its uniqueness is its ability to travel across the ocean then maneuver to the shore over a shallow reef. It can be propelled by surf, wind or paddle. We used the paddle. The water is warm, the sun is bright and we are catching a wave at Waikiki Beach with Todd and Zane. Life is Good!
